FAQ
Drug & Alcohol Testing FAQs
Do employees need an appointment?
No. Walk-ins are always welcome for drug and alcohol testing during clinic hours. Schedule an appointment for expedited service.
What’s the difference between DOT and non-DOT testing?
DOT testing applies to safety-sensitive transportation jobs and follows federal rules. Non-DOT testing covers all other employees and follows your company’s own policy.
Which testing method should we use?
It depends on your program. Urine screens are the most common, oral-fluid testing detects recent use, and hair testing covers a longer history. We’re happy to help you choose.
How soon after an accident should testing happen?
As soon as possible. For DOT post-accident testing, alcohol tests should happen within 2 hours (and no later than 8), and drug tests within 32 hours.
Do you support random testing programs?
Yes, we perform collections for random testing. Contact us to learn more.
How do employers receive results?
Results are uploaded to the Employer Portal as soon as they are available.
Do you do return-to-duty and follow-up testing?
Yes. We perform return-to-duty and follow-up testing for both DOT and non-DOT programs. If your employee also needs a fit-for-duty exam before returning, we can do that during the same visit.
Can drivers get a DOT physical at the same visit?
Yes. All of our physicians are FMCSA certified, so a driver can complete a DOT physical and DOT drug test in one trip.
